Move Complete

This probably didn’t come as a surprise to anyone but me, but the move took a lot longer than expected. Finally starting to get organized, though, so expect posts to ramp up soon. In the meantime, check out the followup to Chase Jarvis’ call for new blog inspiration in his latest blog post: There’s a huge number of great photography and design blogs listed there.

David Doubilet

If you're not familiar with the underwater work of David Doubilet, I urge you to visit his website. I'm especially fond of his photos of stingrays, eagle rays and manta rays: He masterfully captures the beauty and grace of these creatures.

Inspired to try it yourself? Fiji's Yasawa Islands is a fantastic place to meet and shoot giant manta rays. Make sure to do your research (they are seasonal), get fit (they are very fast swimmers) and learn a few Fijian phrases (so you can charm the locals into taking you out to the best spots). Sounds like a lot of work, perhaps; but meeting these huge animals in person is an absolutely unforgettable experience.
