Hot on the heels of Aperture 2.0 comes 2.1. The new version supports plugins, and makes a number of changes to existing functionality—presumably in response to user feedback after the 2.0 release.

Aperture Reviews
A couple of Aperture 2.0 reviews have been posted by Ars Technica and Macworld. The results won’t come as a surprise to anyone—it’s faster, easier to use and has better RAW conversion—but the Ars Technica piece in particular is a good read for anyone who hasn’t yet taken the plunge.

In or around Dubai in early May? Check out the Gulf Photo Plus 2008 event, which offers a range of talks, panel discussions and workshops with photographers like Joe McNally and David Hobby. Probably the most interesting session for advanced amateurs would be the three day mock commercial shoot organized by Chase Jarvis and team. Great concept.
